Summer Workout Schedules
Here are the final workout schedules for the remainder of the summer. They are fashioned to coincide with the high school schedule. KJH team members should follow the exercise plan but remember that notes such as "camp" do not apply to you.
Dancers should post these and check off/highlight exercises as they do them. All sheets will be turned in at the end of the summer. If you are on vacation, and choose not to keep up with workout that week, simply write "vacation" on the sheet, but taking a week off will make it difficult to get back on track. A simple 10 - 15 minute stretch and a few pushups/ crunches is practical while at the beach! Even a run down the shoreline :)
Please make sure you are running in safe locations. Running with friends or at the KHS track are good options. The stadium (track only) is open to the community and you should be able to get in through the circular gates at all times during the day. Be considerate of other workouts going on.
The athletic department has emphasized to me that it is important to require the dancers to work on their own throughout the summer, as other athletes work pre- season. The expectation is that they complete these workouts to the best of their ability and come prepared to begin dancing with strong bodies when school begins.
Again, it is important that ALL dancers be in a ballet class, including varsity girls who hope to compete this season. I know quite a few dancers are at Ballet Tech, but there are other options out there.
